Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kowalsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toshiro Montero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montero comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Danzig - Mother kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jan Kowalsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Toshiro Montero!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalsky checks a low kick from Montero.
Montero throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Kowalsky takes a swing at Montero's ribcage but misses.
Montero uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kowalsky.

and Montero counters with a single leg into guard. Kowalsky didn't expect that.

Montero in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kowalsky controls Montero momentarily but Montero frees himself.
Montero wants to control from the top but Kowalsky keeps moving.
Montero stands up over Kowalsky, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Montero really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kowalsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Montero can do anything to dispel that myth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

I would just about give that final round to Toshiro Montero.
I've got Montero winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
