The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from McHale misses.
Horrible takedown by McHale or perhaps it was just good defense by Mannersormi which made him look bad.
Mannersormi is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McHale's half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
McHale is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mannersormi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

McHale is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

McHale tries to free his leg and advance position but Mannersormi is retaining full guard.

Mannersormi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mannersormi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mannersormi wants to sweep here but McHale controlling him for the moment.

Mannersormi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McHale!
McHale is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
McHale is squirming around, avoiding Mannersormi's attempts to control the action.
McHale is looking to improve his position but Mannersormi isn't that keen on the idea.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
