Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Pynchon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Swearengen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swearengen has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Al Swearengen will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Swearengen! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pynchon dives in and scores a takedown into Swearengen's guard. Pynchon sitting in guard, not really doing much. Pynchon stopping the sweep attempt from Swearengen. Swearengen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Pynchon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Swearengen works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pynchon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Swearengen looks gassed! Pynchon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Pynchon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pynchon wants to control from the top but Swearengen keeps moving. Swearengen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pynchon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Pynchon throws a big elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pynchon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pynchon sitting in guard, not really doing much. Pynchon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Pynchon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Pynchon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Pynchon controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Pynchon with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pynchon pushing down on Swearengen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Swearengen blocking the ground and pound attempt from Pynchon. Pynchon slips a nice elbow through Swearengen's hands, connecting with Swearengen's forehead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pynchon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. This has been an exciting period of action! The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pynchon connects with a nice short shot to Swearengen's temple.
That has opened up Al Swearengen's cut even more. Still in half guard, Pynchon seems content to control. Swearengen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pynchon thows a huge punch but Swearengen dodges it nicely.
Al Swearengen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swearengen is not content to let Pynchon control the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Pynchon showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pynchon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
