Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daley Borisov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lewis McLay! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borisov scores with a jab to the jaw. McLay looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! McLay takes one to the chin there. Borisov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Borisov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McLay manages to avoid it. Borisov waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract McLay. No joy there for Borisov, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McLay uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Borisov. Borisov misses with an uppercut. McLay saw that one coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borisov throws out a powerful jab. McLay slips a jab from Borisov. McLay shoots and misses and Borisov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Borisov connects with a jab. McLay closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Borisov throws a right and a left that both miss. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Borisov, as that shot connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Borisov looks to land a right hand but McLay moved out of range. McLay is looking to clinch. McLay shoots for a takedown but Borisov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. McLay moves out of range of the strikes. McLay is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Borisov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by McLay. McLay displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Borisov throws out the jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McLay shoots in but no luck this time. Daley Borisov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis McLay. The fighters circle momentarily. Borisov darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Borisov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Borisov throws out a loose jab but McLay uses good head movement to avoid it. Borisov dips to his left and cracks McLay with an uppercut! McLay shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A punch lands to the side of McLay 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Borisov scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. McLay misses with a takedown attempt and Borisov counters with a straight right hand. Borisov stuns McLay with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A telegraphed right hand from Borisov misses the target. Borisov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Nice shot lands for Borisov. McLay drives through with a takedown into Borisov's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borisov moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Borisov looks to land a left hand but McLay moved out of range nicely. Borisov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Borisov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Decent striking displayed by Borisov there. Borisov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McLay circles away quickly and effectively. McLay is breathing heavily. Jab from Borisov.

McLay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Borisov but Borisov pushes him off and we're back to square one. Borisov misses with a looping left.

Daley Borisov dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Borisov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. McLay shoots in for a double leg but Borisov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. McLay has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Borisov finds it's way round the side to connect with McLay's head. Borisov sizes up McLay with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Borisov scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. The crowd cheers as Borisov lands an impressive looking overhand right. McLay doesn't seem phased though. McLay with a lazy takedown attempt and Borisov counters with a right hand to the body.

McLay takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Nice shot by Borisov. McLay has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. McLay moves out of range of the strikes. The crowd cheers as Borisov lands an impressive looking overhand right. McLay doesn't seem phased though. Borisov works the jab nicely. Borisov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

McLay is rocked! McLay avoids a lazy jab quite easily. McLay is still on wobbly legs! Can Borisov finish him? McLay tries to clinch up but Borisov circles away and keeps his distance.

Borisov is fending him off so far but McLay persists. Nope, Borisov circles away and we're back to standing. Daley Borisov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lewis McLay. Borisov lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Daley Borisov is winning the standup battle so far. Borisov is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Borisov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLay takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Borisov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McLay stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. McLay takes a body punch but keeps moving. Borisov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but McLay moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Daley Borisov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Borisov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
