Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zach Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Knight! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight throws a right and a left that Ramirez avoids nicely. No luck for Ramirez with that takedown attempt. Knight throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ramirez moves into the clinch. Ramirez looking to throw knees to the head but Knight is blocking nicely.
Ramirez manages to break the clinch.
Knight swings for the body but Ramirez moves out of range.
Ramirez gets a double leg takedown into Knight's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Ramirez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Knight, up you get! Knight misses with a few strikes there.
Knight throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Knight darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ramirez moves out of range of the strikes. Knight scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Knight throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ramirez counters with a left and a right that stings Knight. Michael Knight is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramirez defending well as Knight loads up on a big left hand. Ramirez drives through with a takedown into guard. Knight looks gassed! Ramirez drops back looking for a leg! Knight is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Knight manages to kick Ramirez off! Ramirez jumps back into Knight's guard. Ramirez landing some decent shots from guard. Ramirez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ramirez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ramirez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramirez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Knight is keeping the position for now. Ramirez pushes down on Knight's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ramirez seems to be working for a kimura but Knight defends the submission attempt. Ramirez controlling the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight is refusing to be controlled, as Ramirez sits in half guard. Ramirez wants to free his trapped foot but Knight is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ramirez maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Knight could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ramirez has cracked it and Knight is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ramirez!
