Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bud Bundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bundy's entrance music is Big Balls . A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Connor's choice of entrance music: Ça vaut mieux que d'attraper la scarlatine by Ray Venture. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bud Bundy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Connor!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bundy takes the fight into the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Bundy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Bundy lands with a right to the head.
Bundy throws a head punch that misses.
Bundy scores with a shot to the side of Connor's head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Bundy.
Bundy blocks a body shot from Connor.
Bundy throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Connors head.
Connor blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Connor can't find room to land a body shot as Bundy controls the action.
Connor blocks a body shot from Bundy.
Bundy is working Connor over against the cage.
Bundy misses with a punch on the inside.
Connor tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Connor misses with a body punch.
Bundy misses with the head strike.
Bundy blocks a body shot from Connor.
Connor swings wildly with an uppercut but Bundy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Still in the clinch, Bundy scores with a nice short uppercut.

Connor lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Connor looks to land a strike but Bundy avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Connor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bundy is trying to control the position but Connor postures up.
Connor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Connor is pushing down on Bundy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bundy is fighting to maintain full guard but Connor has managed to sneak the leg through.

Connor wants to work for an arm triangle but Bundy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Connor is looking to take a break and control but Bundy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Connor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bundy sees it coming and defends easily.
Bundy tries to get to full guard but Connor has control of the leg.

Connor seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Connor throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bundy to regain full guard.

Connor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Connor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bundy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Connor wants to control from the top but Bundy keeps moving.
Bundy wants to sweep here but Connor controlling him for the moment.

Bundy is trying to control the position but Connor postures up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bundy tries to clinch but Connor moves out of range.
Connor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bundy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Bundy escapes and gets back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bundy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bundy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bundy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bud Bundy will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Connor gets caught flat footed, as Bundy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Connor is trying to control the position but Bundy postures up.
Bundy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bundy stands up over Connor, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Bundy with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Connor is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bundy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Connor has momentary wrist control but Bundy slips an elbow through the middle.
Connor looking for a sweep. Not yet Connor, not yet.
Bundy is in close to Connor's body, working some short punches and elbows.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bundy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
John Connor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bundy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Connor.
A decent looking cross lands there for Connor.

Bundy scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Connor tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Bundy tries to score with some ground and pound. Connor controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Connor is looking for a sweep.
Connor manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bundy's best efforts.

Bundy is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Connor has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bundy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Bundy decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bundy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bundy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Bundy prevents Connor from getting the reversal.
Connor tries to lock up and control but Bundy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Connor looks out of his depth in this position - he's holding on tight.
Connor bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Connor with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bundy wants to hit a switch here but Connor passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Bundy there!

Bud Bundy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Let's hope that Connor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Connor is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bundy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Connor connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Bundy is rocked!

Connor takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Connor pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Connor! Bundy is hurt baaadly! Connor is firing away with more strikes - Bundy is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Connor!
John Connor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
