Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Persons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Janek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trevor Persons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Janek!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Persons lands a left and a right that send Janek crashing to the mat, dazed. Persons thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Persons swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Janek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Persons circles away quickly and effectively.
A slapping leg kick lands for Janek.
Persons swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Janek.
Janek thows a body shot but no joy.
Janek throws a series of punches but Persons moves out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Persons as he connects with a hook.
Janek shoots in but Persons avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Persons throws a wild body kick that Janek sees coming a mile off.
Janek attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

A low kick from Janek is predictable there
and Persons counters with a straight right hand.
Janek finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Janek throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Persons misses with a wild body shot.
Janek throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Trevor Persons is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Persons loads up on a big right hand but Janek slips the punch.
Persons throws a right and a left that both miss.
Janek changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Persons tries to avoid it but Janek manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Persons to the ground. Persons escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Persons swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Persons crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Janek - the referee stops the clock and Persons gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Janek. Persons manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Janek gets the takedown into side control.
Janek fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Janek working the ground and pound but Persons is defending the strikes.
Persons parries the strikes from Janek easily there. Janek is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Persons to escape.

Janek tries to score with some ground and pound. Persons controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janek postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The strikes coming from Janek are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Janek tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Janek has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Janek is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Persons knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Janek tries to score with some ground and pound. Persons controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Janek dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Persons looks to land a left hand but Janek moved out of range nicely.
Persons getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Janek looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Persons shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Some bone on bone action there as Janek checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Persons catches Janek with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Trevor Persons is winning the standup battle so far.
Janek throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Janek tries to land a front kick but Persons steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Persons misses with a few strikes there.
A combination from Persons does no damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Janek finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Janek feints and then cracks Persons's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Persons down.
Janek is looking to chop away at Persons's legs.
No joy there for Janek, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Persons connects with a body shot.
Persons throws a lazy right hand but Janek sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Persons misses with an uppercut
and Janek counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Janek misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Janek throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Janek closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Persons to the mat! Persons manages to get full guard.
Janek wants to pass the guard but Persons is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Janek trying to control the position from guard on top but Persons is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
