Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucio Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucio Ribeiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Burns!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burns fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ribeiro, pushing him back against the cage.
Burns is trying to break free.
Ribeiro is looking to control Burns's arms but Burns gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ribeiro has his back to the cage.

Burns lands a takedown into guard.
Ribeiro is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Ribeiro can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Burns controls the pace.
Burns is standing up over Ribeiro. Ribeiro looks to escape but Burns dives into side control.

Burns decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Ribeiro looks to land a combination but Burns avoids it well.
Ribeiro throws a head kick that misses.
Ribeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily.
Lucio Ribeiro seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ribeiro misses with a two punch combination.
Burns throws an overhand right that lands on Ribeiro's shoulder, as Ribeiro tries to avoid the shot.
Ribeiro misses with a head kick.
Burns misses with a low kick as Ribeiro jumps back.

Burns shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Burns showed some decent athleticism there.
Ribeiro is breathing heavily.
Burns stalling.

Burns is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like Burns might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Let's hope that Burns has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Bobby Burns has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Burns rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ribeiro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ribeiro misses with a double jab.
Ribeiro misses with a head kick.
Ribeiro lands with a slapping head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ribeiro misses with a series of wild punches.
Burns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ribeiro gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ribeiro wants to get back to his feet but Burns is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Burns makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Burns really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ribeiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Burns postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Burns is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bobby Burns hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Burns controlling the pace for now.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ribeiro misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Burns rushes Ribeiro and presses him up against the cage.
Burns wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ribeiro has him pressed against the cage.
Ribeiro has had enough of the clinch but Burns keeps him there for the moment.
Burns is trying to pull guard but Ribeiro turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ribeiro wants to break free but Burns has control.
Ribeiro working hard to break the clinch.
Ribeiro tries to circle away but Burns has him pinned against the cage.

Burns ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Burns no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ribeiro won't allow Burns to get back to his feet.

Burns has a closed guard, preventing Ribeiro from standing up.
Burns seems keen to control Ribeiro's posture.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bobby Burns.

Burns dives in and scores a takedown into Ribeiro's guard.

Burns drops back looking for a leg! Ribeiro is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ribeiro manages to kick Burns off! Burns jumps back into Ribeiro's guard.
Ribeiro wants to stand up but Burns is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ribeiro has momentary wrist control but Burns slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Burns decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ribeiro, up you get!
Burns throws a looping overhand right but Ribeiro ducks down to avoid it.
Ribeiro misses with a head kick.
Ribeiro throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily.
Burns throws a lazy right hand but Ribeiro sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ribeiro tries a head kick but it misses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burns thows a body shot but no joy.

Burns shoots in and bounces Ribeiro off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Burns lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ribeiro keeping full guard, as Burns tries to pass.

Burns controlling from the top position.

Burns stands up from Ribeiro's guard - Burns perhaps looking for a knockout.
Ribeiro looks to land a combination but Burns avoids it well.
Lucio Ribeiro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Burns gets a double leg takedown into Ribeiro's guard.

Burns gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ribeiro tries a head kick but it misses.

Burns throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ribeiro was covering up waiting for the punch and Burns finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ribeiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Burns must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Burns is stalling in the full guard.
Burns's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bobby Burns wasn't active enough on the ground.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Burns.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee asks Burns politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Burns prefers to stall for the moment though.
Ribeiro takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Burns shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ribeiro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Ribeiro is trying to buck Burns off.
Ribeiro tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Burns tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Oh Ribeiro is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Burns working for a guillotine from mount but Ribeiro is in no mood to give up.
Burns looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Ribeiro covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Burns!
