Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Micheal Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Big Hand! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hall lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hand will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hall passes into half guard. Hall wants to pass to mount but Hand is defending the position. Hall wants to work for an arm triangle but Hand is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hall is trying to work for a kimura but Hand is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hand flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hand really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hand flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Hand looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hall is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Hand moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Hall wants to stand but Hand is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hand swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hall is breathing heavily. Hand thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Hand wants to sweep here but Hall controlling him for the moment. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Hand shoots and misses and Hall decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hand's guard. Hand throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Hall avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hand is on top in guard.
Hand throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hall had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hand is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Hall Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hand's back instead. Hall is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Hand won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Hall off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Micheal Hall!
