Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eljas Aalto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phil Phillips! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Danga de danga de dang - Aalto scores with a four punch combination!
It looks like Phil Phillips has been cut. Phillips misses with the combination.
Aalto keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Aalto scores with a crisp jab that stopped Phillips in his tracks. Phillips bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Phillips fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Aalto's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Aalto duly obliges. Aalto slips a jab and a cross from Phillips.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Phillips throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Aalto counter with a right hand. Aalto scores with a nice right hand.
Phillips walks into a left hand. Aalto shoots in and drives through. Phillips sprawls well. Phillips falls off balance throwing a combination
and Aalto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Phillips's guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Aalto tries to free his leg and advance position but Phillips is retaining full guard. Aalto sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Phillips's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aalto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Phillips looks gassed! Aalto is working for a submission of some sort.
Aalto is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Phillips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aalto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Aalto moves into full mount! Phillips won't be happy about that! Aalto working for a submission but Phillips is keeping him at bay.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aalto is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Phillips has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Aalto throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Phillips has his hands clasped together but Aalto breaks the hold and Phillips is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Aalto!
