These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hood moves into the clinch.

Hood breaks from the clinch.
Lippi connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lippi lands a high kick!

It looks like Reggie Hood has been cut.
Lippi scores with a kick to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hood blocks a head kick by Lippi.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lippi.
Lippi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Lippi tries to clinch but Hood is having none of it.

Hood pushes Lippi up against the cage in a clinch.

Hood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lippi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hood's head.
Palito Lippi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lippi darts in trying to clinch
enabling Hood to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Palito Lippi has been cut.
Hood blocks a head kick by Lippi.

Hood has closed the distance and engaged Lippi in a clinch.
Lippi wants to get back to striking at distance but Hood won't allow it.
Lippi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lippi wants a takedown.

Hood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hood blocks a head kick by Lippi.
Lippi bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Lippi wants to clinch
and Hood counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hood circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Hood to counter with a crisp jab.
Lippi moves to clinch but Hood breaks away
and Hood scores with a counter punch that sends Lippi to the canvas! Hood smells blood - he's punishing Lippi with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Lippi has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
