Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Blues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerico Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jerico Smith was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Blues regains half guard.
Blues slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Smith wants to control from the top but Blues keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Blues has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Smith gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Smith lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Blues.

Smith tries to reverse the position but Blues maintains control.

Blues pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Blues is in the full mount, landing strikes.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blues kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Blues as he jumps to the side.

and Smith counters with a low kick, right behind Blues 's knee.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
