PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiros Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Wayne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hiros Yamamoto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto shoots in looking for a takedown but Wayne manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Yamamoto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wayne is looking to clinch.
Wayne tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Yamamoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wayne wants to clinch up but Yamamoto keeps it at a distance.
Wayne misses with the body kick
and Yamamoto counters with a good, hard body kick but Wayne shrugs it off.

Yamamoto works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Wayne jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yamamoto walks away with a smile on his face. Wayne gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wayne lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Yamamoto gets control of Wayne's arms and successfully pulls guard. Yamamoto will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Yamamoto shoots in looking for a takedown. Wayne tries to sprawl out of it but Yamamoto keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Wayne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Wayne will probably get the nod.

Yamamoto is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bruce Wayne will probably get the nod.

Wayne has hold of Yamamoto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Yamamoto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bruce Wayne.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wayne, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
