Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rafeal Djocovito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luiz Anderton!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Djocovito shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Djocovito showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Djocovito is looking for a kimura but Anderton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Djocovito to get the leverage.

Djocovito seems to be working for a kimura but Anderton defends the submission attempt.
It looks like Djocovito is going to stand back up.

Djocovito working over Anderton with some ground and pound. Anderton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Djocovito will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Djocovito wants to take a breather but Anderton is having none of it.

Anderton will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Anderton throws a series of punches but Djocovito avoids them all with ease.
Anderton takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Djocovito takes a swing at Anderton's ribcage but misses.
Djocovito lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Anderton circles away quickly and effectively.

Djocovito dives in and scores a takedown into Anderton's guard.
Djocovito throws a strike but Anderton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Djocovito is trying to control the position but Anderton postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Djocovito pushes Anderton off and gets back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A jab from Djocovito finds it's way through Anderton's defenses.

Djocovito cracks Anderton with a big elbow.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Anderton is looking to regain half guard here but Djocovito keeps moving and retains side control.
Djocovito advances to mount.
The referee warns Anderton that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Djocovito cracks Anderton with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


It looks like Luiz Anderton has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Djocovito fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
BOOM! Djocovito connects with a massive shot to the dome!


That has opened up Luiz Anderton's cut even more.
Djocovito is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Anderton can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Luiz Anderton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Rafeal Djocovito!
Rafeal Djocovito decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
