Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nicholas Yashin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson looks to land a combination. Yashin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Yashin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yashin slaps away a takedown attempt from Anderson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Yashin swings for the body but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Yashin tries to sprawl out of it but Anderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yashin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anderson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Yashin is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Yashin circles away and we're back to standing.
Nicholas Yashin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Anderson.

Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anderson shoots for a double leg takedown but Yashin sprawls well. He's pushed Anderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Anderson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Yashin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Yashin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Yashin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Anderson is squirming around, avoiding Yashin's attempts to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Yashin lands with some strikes.
Anderson is trying to escape the mount.

Yashin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anderson defends it well.
Yashin is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Yashin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Yashin is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Anderson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yashin.

Anderson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Anderson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Yashin regains guard immediately.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Anderson.
Anderson fails to land with a series of punches.
Yashin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Anderson's waist but Anderson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Yashin off to one side.
No luck for Anderson with that takedown attempt.
Anderson motions for Yashin to come forward. Anderson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
The fight stays on the outside here - Anderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Yashin tries to lock up and control but Anderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Anderson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Yashin is looking to escape.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Anderson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Yashin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Yashin!

John Anderson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
