Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Cristos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cristos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cypress Hill - Hand on the Pump. Power has chosen Fabolous, 50cent, Mase - Breathe Remix as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Cristos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Power!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Power throws a quick inside leg kick.
Power looks to land a body kick but Cristos moved away.
Power misses with a hook

and Cristos counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Power trying to control from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Power wants to control but Cristos is keeping busy.
Power is concentrating on defense, preventing Cristos from advancing position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cristos trying to pass the guard but Power defending well.
Cristos content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!

We're going to have a standup here because Martin Cristos wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Power scores with a jab to the jaw.

It looks like Martin Cristos has been cut.

Power throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cristos tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Power is in Cristos's guard.
Power pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cristos is keeping the position for now.

Cristos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Power looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Power wants to pass the guard but Cristos is keeping the position.
Power throwing strikes but missing.

Cristos keeping moving, preventing Power from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Power stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Power wants it to stay on the feet.
Power fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Cristos.
Cristos fails with a takedown attempt.

Cristos closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Power's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Power is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cristos is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Power manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Cristos wants to hold on but Power pushes him away.
Cristos is trying to escape the mount but Power keeps good control and instead manages to take Cristos's back.

Power is looking for the choke from the back position but Cristos is controlling his hands well.
Power struggling to land strikes to the head as Cristos covers up.
Power throwing wild punches that miss their target.

Power is persistently looking for the submission but Cristos is defending it well.

Power punches the canvas rather than the man.
Cristos rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Power is trying to control. Cristos wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cristos is pressing down on Power's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Power wants to control from the top but Cristos keeps moving.
Power stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cristos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Power postures up in Cristos's guard and throws a big left but Cristos blocks it.
Cristos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Power is controlling him.
Power has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Power trying to control the position from guard on top but Cristos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Power.
Power lands a nice hook to Cristos's body. Cristos takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Power throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Power wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Power throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Power throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cristos doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Power counters with a lovely shot to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Cristos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Power tries a head kick but it misses.
Cristos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Power sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cristos somewhat.
Cristos is breathing heavily.
Cristos has his takedown stuffed
and Power counters with a thumping low kick.
Cristos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Power.
Cristos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Power as he avoids it easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Power.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Power trying to control the position but Cristos is working away.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Power is looking to take a break and control but Cristos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Power wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cristos, who protects the arm well.
Cristos wants to get back to his feet but Power drags him back down.
Power wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cristos keeps working.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Cristos is trying to control Power's posture but Power avoids it.
Power controls the position.
Cristos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Power wants to control but Cristos is keeping him busy.
Cristos avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Power.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.
Power wants to control but Cristos is keeping him busy.
Power tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Power taking a break here but Cristos is having none of it and regains half guard.
Cristos wants to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cristos looking for subs from the bottom but Power mounts him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Power dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Martin Cristos's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cristos takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Cristos tries for a takedown but Power circles away easily
enabling Power to counter with a crisp jab.
Power ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Cristos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Power makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Power wants to land a leg kick but Cristos is out of range.
Cristos misses with a takedown

and Power counters with a crisp one two that drops Cristos! Power thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Cristos to his feet! Cristos is in big trouble!


Cristos is rocked!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Martin Cristos. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Power and Cristos are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Power throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Cristos into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Power knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Max Power!
Our winner, Max Power, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
