Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joe Fresh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago De Jesus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Jesus has chosen El Legado-Crack Family as his entrance music. Santiago De Jesus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago De Jesus!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Jesus pushes Fresh up against the cage in a clinch.
De Jesus tries to land knees in the clinch but Fresh avoids the damage to the body.
De Jesus scores a nice knee to the body.

De Jesus tries a knee to the head but Fresh blocks it.
De Jesus effectively controlling the action here.
Fresh tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
De Jesus's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Fresh tries to pull guard but De Jesus holds him up against the cage and eventually Fresh drops back down to his feet.

Fresh jumps guard but De Jesus stands there with Fresh around his waist. Fresh gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Fresh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
De Jesus tries to land knees in the clinch but Fresh avoids the damage to the body.
Fresh wants to break the clinch but can't.

De Jesus manages to break the clinch.
De Jesus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fresh was well out of range. Poor timing from De Jesus.
De Jesus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
De Jesus misses with a two punch combination.
Fresh takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Fresh pushes De Jesus up against the cage in a clinch.

De Jesus slowing the pace effectively.
De Jesus prevents Fresh from breaking the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

De Jesus throws an elbow but it misses.
Fresh wants a takedown.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A swing and a miss from De Jesus.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



De Jesus closes the distance and clinches.
Fresh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De Jesus walks away with a smile on his face. Fresh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Fresh.
De Jesus stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and De Jesus wants it to stay on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Fresh is defended easily by De Jesus.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Fresh. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fresh tries to keep at a distance but De Jesus has taken the fight into the clinch.
De Jesus tries to land knees in the clinch but Fresh avoids the damage to the body.
Fresh is trying to pull guard but De Jesus has him pressed against the cage.
Fresh avoids a wild elbow strike from De Jesus.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by De Jesus as Fresh tries to tie him up.
Fresh tries to score a body lock takedown but De Jesus shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

De Jesus will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fresh up against the cage.
De Jesus pushes off an throws an elbow but Fresh leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Fresh tries to pull guard but De Jesus won't allow it.
Fresh goes for a takedown in the clinch but De Jesus prevents it.

De Jesus slaps away a takedown attempt from Fresh, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fresh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fresh shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Jesus defends it nicely.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from De Jesus in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Fresh is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Fresh is working for takedown but De Jesus is calmly controlling the position for now.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Fresh.
Fresh jumps guard but De Jesus turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
De Jesus is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Fresh is defending well for now.

Fresh tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. De Jesus just stands there and leans against the cage.
De Jesus keeps control of Fresh as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Fresh jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as De Jesus walks away with a smile on his face. Fresh gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

De Jesus defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Fresh.
Fresh could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fresh tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. De Jesus smiles and moves away.
Joe Fresh is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

De Jesus fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fresh, pushing him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santiago De Jesus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Fresh throws a head kick that misses.
That kick from De Jesus tenderised Fresh's leg. Fresh is trying to keep his angry face on.

De Jesus has taken the fight to the clinch.
De Jesus tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fresh avoids it.
With the fighters up against the cage, De Jesus throws an elbow but misses.
De Jesus will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Fresh up against the cage.

Sloppy strikes from De Jesus. Those never looked like landing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De Jesus misses with a head kick.
Fresh throws a sloppy head kick
and De Jesus counters with a slapping leg kick.

De Jesus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Fresh.
Santiago De Jesus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Fresh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Jesus avoids it really well and circles away.
De Jesus swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts De Jesus, as that shot connected.
Santiago De Jesus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fresh shoots in looking for a takedown. De Jesus tries to sprawl out of it but Fresh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. De Jesus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Fresh. That's going to take a lot out of him.
De Jesus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fresh.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fresh misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
De Jesus lands a big head kick that sends Fresh to the canvas! De Jesus follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Santiago De Jesus!
Santiago De Jesus gave a mention to West Coast Apparel in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
