Papalola kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Emmure - I Thought You Met Telly And Turned Me Into Casper . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cari fails with the takedown.
Cari fails with a takedown attempt.

Papalola instigates a clinch.
Cari is working for takedown but Papalola is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mark Papalola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Cari.
Papalola is trying to break the clinch but Cari has him pressed against the cage.
Cari tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Cari feints and as Papalola raises his hands in defense, Cari changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cari trying to move into half guard but instead Papalola has managed to sweep!

Cari wants to stand up but Papalola is controlling him.
Cari is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Papalola stands up out of Cari's guard for a moment - Cari manages to land a nice upkick.

Cari is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Papalola postures up and lands a big shot to Cari's brow.

Papalola wants to control from the top but Cari keeps moving.
Cari is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cari looking for a guillotine here but Papalola defends easily.
Cari is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cari has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Papalola defend it? Cari steps over the head and cranks it - Papalola is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Cari!
