Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stewart Franks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stewart Franks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hector Jimenez! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Joseph Jones and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franks throws a body kick that misses. Jimenez on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Jimenez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Franks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Franks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jimenez.
Jimenez slips under a jab from Franks. Stewart Franks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Franks connects with a solid leg kick. Franks pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Some wild striking there from Franks.
Franks lands a two punch combo.
A nice inside leg kick there by Franks. That's going to slow Jimenez down. Franks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Franks cracks Jimenez with a solid left hand. Franks is looking to work some ground and pound but Jimenez has wrist control. Jimenez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round. Franks working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jimenez's head. Jimenez has his foot on Franks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Franks works his way back into a safe position though. Franks throwing strikes but missing. Jimenez has his hands on Franks's head, controlling the position. Jimenez has momentary wrist control but Franks slips an elbow through the middle. Franks pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jimenez is keeping the position for now. Jimenez has control of Franks's left arm, preventing Franks from doing any damage. Franks slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jimenez misses with an elbow from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franks throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Jimenez is trying to improve his position. Jimenez looks gassed! Franks scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jimenez to see if he's OK. Jimenez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Franks's best efforts. Franks is nestled in close to Jimenez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Jimenez landing small, sideways elbows. Franks working the head and body with strikes. Franks lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Franks is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jimenez thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Franks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Franks works a leg free and moves into half guard. Franks not landing any meaningful shots this time. Jimenez avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Franks. Jimenez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Franks postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Franks pushes down on Jimenez's leg and manages to get into half guard. Franks looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Jimenez is rocked! Franks prevents Jimenez from standing back up.
Jimenez is still in real trouble! Can Franks finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jimenez is just riding it out for now. Franks eventually gives up the hold. Jimenez seems to have recovered his senses. Franks trying to mount his opponent but Jimenez defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franks working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jimenez won't allow Franks to pass to mount. Franks uses his free foot to push down on Jimenez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jimenez. Franks in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Franks lands a big elbow - Jimenez is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Jimenez is forced to tap out!
