Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steven Mcdermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Blade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steven Mcdermott! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeremy Blade! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blade looks to land a right hand but Mcdermott moved out of range. Blade ducks right into an uppercut from Mcdermott. Blade closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Blade is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Blade keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mcdermott's efforts to push away. Blade changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mcdermott fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mcdermott does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Mcdermott sizes up Blade with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Jab, jab by Mcdermott - just one landing. Mcdermott dodges the punch combination from Blade.
Blade uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mcdermott.
Blade throws a hook but Mcdermott avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Mcdermott. Blade shoots in for a double leg but Mcdermott sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Mcdermott tries to clinch there but Blade circles away.
Blade throws an off balance right hand
and Mcdermott counters with a nice low kick that buckles Blade's knee momentarily. Mcdermott lands a leg kick that knocks Blade off balance momentarily. Blade shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mcdermott sprawls well. Mcdermott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blade gets slowly back to his feet. Steven Mcdermott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Blade. Mcdermott lands with a hook. Blade tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Blade takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Blade ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mcdermott connects with a body shot. Blade shoots in and gets a takedown into Mcdermott's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mcdermott keeping moving, preventing Blade from controlling successfully. Mcdermott pushes a forearm under Blade's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Blade is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
