Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Naomasa Yi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Hansen had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ken Hansen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Naomasa Yi!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
A slapping body kick lands there for Hansen.
Hansen shoots in looking for a takedown but Yi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hansen's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hansen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Yi circles away quickly and effectively.
Yi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A telegraphed right hand from Yi misses the target.
Hansen throws a nice inside leg kick.
Yi fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hansen is out of range.
Hansen tries a head kick but it misses.
Yi leaves Hansen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hansen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Hansen connects with a solid leg kick.
Hansen throws a hook but Yi avoids it easily.
Ken Hansen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Yi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Yi wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Hansen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hansen throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Yi.
A slow jab from Yi misses its intended target.
Hansen staying out of range there.
Yi throws out a loose jab but Hansen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Yi blocks a head kick by Hansen.
Yi misses with an uppercut. Hansen saw that one coming.
Hansen tries for a takedown but Yi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yi tries to bum rush Hansen with a series of wild strikes but Hansen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Yi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Hansen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yi as he avoids it easily.
Yi throws a hook but Hansen avoids it easily.

Hansen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Yi.
Hansen throws a nice outside leg kick.

Hansen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hansen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Yi is trying to get back to full guard.
Hansen wants to free his trapped foot but Yi is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Yi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hansen trying to control the position from guard on top but Yi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Yi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hansen is aware though and is defending well.

Hansen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Hansen wants to control from the top but Yi keeps moving.
Hansen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Yi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hansen stacks Yi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hansen!
Hansen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yi down.
Yi is letting Hansen control him for a moment.
Check out the look on Hansen's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Hansen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Yi rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hansen's guard! Nice work there by Yi!

Hansen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Yi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Yi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Yi looking to sit in guard and control but Hansen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Yi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hansen moves away from the strike by Yi.
Ken Hansen is winning the standup battle so far.
Hansen on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Yi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hansen chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Hansen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Yi throws a lazy right hand but Hansen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Yi lands an overhand right.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hansen.
Hansen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yi was well out of range. Poor timing from Hansen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yi takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hansen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yi sprawls well. Yi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hansen gets slowly back to his feet.
Yi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Yi shoots in but Hansen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hansen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yi misses with a few strikes there.
Hansen feints and then cracks Yi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Yi down.
Ken Hansen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hansen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Yi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

and Hansen counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hansen stands and steps away. Yi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Crunch! Hansen slams his shin into Yi's torso.
Yi takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nice uppercut lands for Yi. That snapped Hansen's head back.
Yi swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hansen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hansen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hansen.
Yi seems a little lost for a moment, as Hansen dominates the positioning.
Hansen lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Yi down.

Hansen is looking to take a break and control but Yi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hansen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ken Hansen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Yi is refusing to be controlled, as Hansen sits in half guard.

Hansen wants to work for an arm triangle but Yi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hansen is keen to just control but Yi is a slippery customer.

Hansen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hansen thows a huge punch but Yi dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Yi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Yi is in Hansen's guard.

Yi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Yi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Yi drops back looking for a leg! Hansen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hansen manages to kick Yi off! Yi jumps back into Hansen's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yi connects with a couple of short punches.

Yi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hansen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Yi wants to control from the top but Hansen keeps moving.

Hansen looking for a triangle here. Yi is fighting it but it looks tight! Hansen pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Yi is tapping out - this one is all over!
