Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Meighen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes to the cage accompanied by The Terminator Theme. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Arthur Meighen enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Steele! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Arthur Meighen! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meighen throws a looping overhand right but Steele ducks down to avoid it. Steele checks a leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Meighen. Meighen takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Meighen misses with a jab to the body
and Steele counters with a shoot takedown. Meighen fights it but they end up in guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Steele keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meighen's head. Steele won't allow Meighen to sweep him here. Steele trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Steele throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steele won't allow Meighen to sweep him here. Steele scoring with punches to the head and body. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Steele is looking to work some ground and pound but Meighen has wrist control. Meighen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Steele throws a strike but Meighen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Steele wants to sweep here but Meighen controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meighen tries to free his leg and advance position but Steele is retaining full guard. Meighen stopping the sweep attempt from Steele. Steele looking for a guillotine here but Meighen defends easily.
Steele is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Meighen is aware though and is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meighen stopping the sweep attempt from Steele. Meighen gets to his feet - Steele follows without any prompting. Meighen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A big right from Meighen misses. Steele takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Meighen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Steele throws a right and a left that Meighen avoids nicely. Meighen bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. This has been an exciting period of action! Steele shoots in but Meighen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Meighen throws out a powerful jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meighen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Meighen lands with a slapping head kick. Meighen misses the shot to the body. Steele swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Steele swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Steele throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Steele steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Meighen. Steele throws a lazy right hand but Meighen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Steele shoots in and drives through. Meighen sprawls well. Steele ducks right into an uppercut from Meighen. Meighen throws a sloppy head kick and Steele moves out of range easily. Meighen thows a body shot but no joy. Meighen tries a head kick but it misses.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Steele blocks a jab. Meighen misses with a low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steele takes one to the side of the head.
Meighen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meighen keeps Steele at a distance using the push kick. Meighen jabs Steele to the body, keeping him at a distance. Steele scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Meighen thows a body shot but no joy. Meighen jabs Steele right on the nose. Steele blinks but takes it well. Steele shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Meighen defends it nicely. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Steele. That's going to take a lot out of him. Meighen is looking to clinch but Steele is avoiding it.
Meighen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Steele. Steele circles away out of range and recomposes himself. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Steele. Steele throws out a loose jab but Meighen uses good head movement to avoid it. Steele misses with a looping left. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Arthur Meighen will probably get the nod. That's time! Steele's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Steele with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Meighen to score with a decent uppercut. Meighen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Meighen misses with a low kick.
Some wild striking there from Steele.
A thudding body kick lands there by Meighen!
Steele cracks Meighen with a good jab. Meighen takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Steele slips a straight right by Meighen. A good leg kick by Meighen. Steele throws a hook but Meighen blocks it. Steele closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Steele missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Steele thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Steele thows a huge punch but Meighen dodges it nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meighen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Steele's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Steele's back! Meighen is hanging on to Steele's back as he tries to escape.
Meighen wants to control but Steele is keeping busy. Meighen controlling from the back. Let's hope that Meighen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Meighen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Steele rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Meighen prevents Steele from improving his position.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Arthur Meighen. Meighen doesn't manage to clinch there - Steele circles away.
Meighen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Steele. Steele circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Meighen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Steele throws out the jab. Meighen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Steele dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Steele takes a kick to the side of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Steele misses with a looping right. Meighen feints and then cracks Steele's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Steele down. Meighen swings for the body but Steele moves out of range.
Steele shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steele lands a heavy elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steele throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Jason Steele overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Meighen is in all sorts of trouble here.
Steele sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Steele cracks Meighen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Steele misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Steele lands a big shot to the head and Meighen winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
