Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miller HighLife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Desmond Hume (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Miller HighLife!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hume misses with a head kick.
Hume lands a nice looking body kick.
Hume tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but HighLife paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick misses from Hume.
Hume connects with an inside leg kick.
HighLife lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Hume rushes HighLife and presses him up against the cage.
HighLife lands with a left to the head.
HighLife working aggressively here.
HighLife fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
HighLife lands with a light punch inside.
Hume wants a takedown but no success here.
HighLife misses with the head strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
HighLife makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Hume ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hume no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
HighLife throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hume works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
HighLife wants to control from the top but Hume keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as HighLife accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
HighLife wants to control from the top but Hume keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
HighLife throws a strike but Hume rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hume throws an elbow that misses. HighLife uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hume's guard. Nice move by HighLife!
HighLife in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
HighLife is working Hume over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

HighLife throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
HighLife wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hume keeps working.
HighLife thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hume's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
HighLife looks to land a strike but Hume avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

HighLife throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Hume tries to land a knee to the head but HighLife blocks with his arms.

Hume is fighting off a takedown attempt but HighLife is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hume to the mat. Hume regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hume wants to clinch
and HighLife counters with a nice uppercut.
HighLife finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
HighLife throws a jab but it's blocked by Hume.

HighLife stalks Hume and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hume's face. Hume staggers backwards, shaken.

Hume pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hume is still on wobbly legs! Can HighLife finish him?
Hume shoots for a double leg takedown but HighLife sprawls well. He's pushed Hume's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hume seems to have recovered his senses.
Hume will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Hume misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
HighLife throws a lazy right hand but Hume sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Hume tries to close the distance and clinch up but HighLife swats him away and circles back towards the center.
HighLife swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hume finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
HighLife takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
HighLife scores with a body shot.
Hume takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
HighLife scores with a jab to the head.
Desmond Hume seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
HighLife fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hume avoids it really well and circles away.

Hume clinches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
HighLife is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Miller HighLife has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Hume is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

HighLife scores a nice knee to the body.

HighLife escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! HighLife crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hume - the referee stops the clock and HighLife gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hume. HighLife manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Hume closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into HighLife's guard.

HighLife has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Miller HighLife just wasn't active enough.
Hume throws a sloppy head kick and HighLife moves out of range easily.
HighLife stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Crunch! Hume slams his shin into HighLife's torso.

Hume has closed the distance and engaged HighLife in a clinch.
Hume has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. HighLife avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Miller HighLife has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Desmond Hume.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hume can do anything to dispel that myth.
