Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Patrick O Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Silva Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Sullivan comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphys--shipping up to boston. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Patrick O Sullivan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Silva Santiago! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santiago defending well as O Sullivan loads up on a big left hand. Santiago takes one on the button.
It looks like Silva Santiago has been cut. O Sullivan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. O Sullivan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Santiagos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! O Sullivan throws a right hand that Santiago ducks under and follows up with a left that Santiago also avoids with ease. O Sullivan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Santiago is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in O Sullivan's half guard. Santiago is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santiago connects with a nice short shot to O Sullivan's temple. Santiago uses his free foot to push down on O Sullivan's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for O Sullivan. Santiago avoids the attempt from O Sullivan to control. Santiago has hold of O Sullivan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and O Sullivan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Santiago cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's one minute gone in the round. O Sullivan is looking to improve his position but Santiago isn't that keen on the idea. Santiago quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Santiago but it's paid off an O Sullivan is forced to tap! Nice work by Santiago.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Silva Santiago! A relieved looking Silva Santiago thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
