Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Mules (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronaldo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Taio Cruz - Dynamite. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Mules!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronaldo Souza!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries for a takedown but Mules sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mules stuffs the takedown.
Mules closes the distance and clinches.
Mules breaks from the clinch.
Souza has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mules finds it's way round the side to connect with Souza's head.
Ronaldo Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Souza shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mules as he avoids it easily.
Robert Mules has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronaldo Souza.
Souza fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mules throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Souza sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mules lands a leg kick that knocks Souza off balance momentarily.
Souza doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mules makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Souza really felt that one!
Souza shoots in looking for a takedown. Mules tries to sprawl out of it but Souza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mules manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A telegraphed right hand from Mules misses the target.
Souza shoots in but Mules avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mules lands a body shot.

Mules throws a leg kick which misses Souza's front leg but catches the back leg as Souza tries to avoid it.
Mules throws a lazy right hand but Souza sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Souza takes one to the side of the head.
Mules misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Souza.
Souza misses with a takedown attempt - Mules sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Mules fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mules throws a front kick aimed at Souza's knee but Souza avoids it well.
Mules throws a series of punches but Souza moves out of range.
Souza closes the distance and clinches up with Mules, looking for a takedown. Souza pushes Mules against the cage but Mules circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mules misses with a leg kick
and Souza counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Souza prevents Mules from getting back to his feet.
Mules knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mules utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but Mules is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Souza is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Souza throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Mules can't keep his opponent in guard - Souza advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Souza moves nicely into side control.
Souza is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mules is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Souza with the ground and pound but Mules regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Souza seems to be looking for submissions.
Souza is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mules has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Souza looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mules looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Souza wants to control but Mules is keeping him busy.
Souza frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mules wants to control but Souza is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Souza is landing with some decent strikes but Mules is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Souza pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Souza looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown by Souza or perhaps it was just good defense by Mules which made him look bad.

Mules does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mules stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mules wants it to stay on the feet.
Souza shoots in but Mules avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Souza doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mules throws a series of punches but Souza avoids them all with ease.
A looping hook to the body misses from Mules. Souza does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mules throws a looping overhand right but Souza ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mules enables Souza to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mules manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Souza passes Mules's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Souza moves nicely into side control.

Souza is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Mules is trying to escape and Souza transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Mules is forced to tap! Nice work there by Souza! Very nice indeed!
