The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zakora walks into a straight right hand from Matsunaga.
Emmanuel Felix Zakora seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matsunaga swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zakora fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Matsunaga.
Zakora tries to close the distance and clinch up but Matsunaga swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Zakora counters with a head kick.
Matsunaga misses with a double jab.
Zakora fails in his attempt to clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matsunaga feints with a jab and clips Zakora right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Zakora is sent crashing into the canvas and Matsunaga leaps in for the kill! Zakora tries to get to his feet but Matsunaga is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Zakora is in need of a savior and steps in!
