The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar gets caught napping as Wedo dives in and scores a takedown. Escobar manages to retain guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Wedo slips nicely into half guard.
Wedo works his way into side control.
Escobar is breathing heavily.

Wedo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Escobar is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Escobar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Escobar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Wedo advances nicely into full mount.
Escobar is in a horrible position here. Wedo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wedo lands a big elbow.

Wedo is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Escobar goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Wedo!

King Wedo was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
