Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Lamotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makungu's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Nelly - Heart of a Champion. Lamotta is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: yes. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamotta's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Makungu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lamotta scrambles back to his feet.
Makungu loads up on a big right hand but Lamotta slips the punch.
Makungu lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Makungu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lamotta sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Makungu somewhat.
Makungu throws a low kick but it's checked well by Lamotta.
Lamotta misses the shot to the body.
Lamotta slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Lamotta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Makungu's head backwards.
Lamotta misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lamotta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Makungu throws out the jab.
Makungu cracks Lamotta with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Lamotta looks to throw the jab but Makungu is out of range.
Lamotta fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Makungu showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lamotta.
Lamotta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Makungu manages to avoid it.

Lamotta connects with the punch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Makungu, as that shot connected.
A swing and a miss from Lamotta.
Makungu throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Makungu clinches up with Lamotta and pushes him back against the cage.
Makungu misses with the head strike.

Makungu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A big left from Makungu misses.
Makungu misses with a body shot.
Lamotta is looking to chop away at Makungu's legs.
Lamotta tests Makungu's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Makungu tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lamotta was well out of range. Poor timing from Makungu.
Lamotta throws a nice looking combination but Makungu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lamotta ducks under a wild hook from Makungu.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Makungu takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Makungu takes a swing at Lamotta's ribcage but misses.
Lamotta lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Makungu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lamotta moves away.
An inside leg kick lands from Lamotta.
Lamotta scores with a hook.
The fighters circle momentarily. Lamotta darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Makungu throws a big shot that misses.
Lamotta connects with a single shot there.
Lamotta dodges the punch combination from Makungu.

Makungu gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Lamotta is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lamotta regains full guard. Nicely done.
Makungu throws a big right hand that misses.
Makungu working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Makungu is sitting in close to Lamotta's body. Lamotta has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Makungu is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Makungu is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Lamotta.
