PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Savo Tieros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tieros comes to the cage accompanied by Self Esteem-The Offspring. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Diego Brandao!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tieros fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Brandao moves in looking to clinch but Tieros pushes him off.
Some wild striking there from Tieros.
Tieros rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Brandao moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Brandao fails to land with a series of punches.
Tieros thows a body shot but no joy.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tieros.
A cross from Tieros lands.
Tieros cracks Brandao with a right hand to the side of the head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Tieros lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Brandao has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Brandao and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tieros takes a kick to the side of the head.
Brandao tries to clinch up but Tieros circles away and keeps his distance.
Tieros keeps the fight on the outside.
Brandao dives in and grabs Tieros's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tieros pushes down on Brandao's head and hops out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Brandao moves into the clinch successfully.

Tieros gets control of Brandao's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tieros will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tieros accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Tieros drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tieros jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tieros drops back looking for a leg! Brandao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brandao manages to kick Tieros off! Tieros jumps back into Brandao's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brandao wants to get back to his feet but Tieros is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That was a close round but I would say that Savo Tieros will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Brandao darts in and clinches Tieros up against the cage.

Brandao breaks from the clinch.
Savo Tieros is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Tieros shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tieros was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
