Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Willy Davis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Ridgeon! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis scores with a hook to the body. Ridgeon takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Davis throws a right and a left that both miss. Davis looks to land a combination. Ridgeon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Ridgeon gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Davis tries a body shot but Ridgeon blocks it.
Ridgeon successfully pulls guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Ridgeon working a defensive guard here.
Ridgeon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ridgeon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davis sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Davis trying to hold on to Ridgeon's head to control him but Ridgeon postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ridgeon is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Davis has managed to free his arm - good work. Ridgeon working the head and body with strikes. Davis taking some punishment here, with Ridgeon in his half guard. Ridgeon is trying to work for a kimura but Davis is defending well.
Ridgeon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Davis tries to get to full guard but Ridgeon has control of the leg. Ridgeon is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.
Ridgeon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ridgeon maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Davis could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ridgeon has cracked it and Davis is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ridgeon!
