The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bullock leaves Pynchon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Pynchon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bullock sprawls well initially but Pynchon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bullock wants to get back to full guard.
Pynchon is nestled in close to Bullock, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Pynchon wants to pass to mount but Bullock is defending the position.

Bullock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pynchon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pynchon lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Bullock quite badly. Bullock pulls Pynchon in close trying to recover. Pynchon postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Bullock on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Bullock doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Pynchon!
