The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mellendrez instigates a clinch.
Mellendrez pulls guard successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mellendrez controlling the position.
Guy wants to control from the top but Mellendrez keeps moving.
Mellendrez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mellendrez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Guy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mellendrez has managed to get both his arms back between Guy's legs - danger averted.

and Mellendrez counters with a nice right hand that sends Guy toppling to the canvas! Guy scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Mellendrez finish him?!

Mellendrez has Guy up against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Guy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Guy tightens his grip and picks Mellendrez up, before dumping him to the ground. Mellendrez manages to land in guard.
Mellendrez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Guy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mellendrez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Guy is looking to get back to is feet but Mellendrez passes into side control.
Guy seems to have got his legs back now.
