Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Huey Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Kirk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Freeman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Leverage - Mister Universe. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kirk decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Freeman wants to control but Kirk is keeping busy.
Kirk is looking to take a break and control but Freeman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kirk wants to free his trapped foot but Freeman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Kirk dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Freeman. That did some damage!

Freeman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kirk can pounce on him.
Kirk uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Freeman.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Freeman tries to bum rush Kirk with a series of wild strikes but Kirk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kirk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kirk accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
