Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Markus Sizemore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Blankenship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blankenship is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Crazy Train. Shane Blankenship will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Markus Sizemore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Blankenship!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blankenship misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Sizemore shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Blankenship wants to control but Sizemore is having none of it.
Blankenship is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Sizemore takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Blankenship can't escape the position.
Sizemore breaks from Blankenship's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Sizemore controlling his opponent.

Sizemore is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Blankenship has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Sizemore cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Blankenship in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sizemore trying to control but Blankenship is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sizemore looking for a guillotine from mount but Blankenship is having none of it.
Blankenship is trying to reverse the position but instead Sizemore has taken his back - oops!
Sizemore connects with a big shot to the side of Blankenship's head.
Blankenship really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sizemore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sizemore has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Blankenship's body.

Sizemore is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Blankenship turns into Sizemore and is now in his guard.
Blankenship works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Blankenship is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sizemore is just riding it out for now. Blankenship eventually gives up the hold.
Sizemore is holding on to half guard well.

Blankenship wants to pass the guard but Sizemore is defending well.
Blankenship is keen to just control but Sizemore is a slippery customer.
Sizemore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sizemore throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Sizemore misses with a body kick.
Blankenship shoots in and bounces Sizemore off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Blankenship slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Blankenship tries to free his leg and advance position but Sizemore is retaining full guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sizemore thows a body shot but no joy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Blankenship looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Blankenship throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sizemore was covering up waiting for the punch and Blankenship finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Blankenship wants to control from the top but Sizemore keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sizemore has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Blankenship doesn't defend quickly enough and Sizemore has managed to lock this one up! Can Blankenship escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sizemore on a fantastic submission victory.
