Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Blankenship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samson David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kenny Blankenship! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samson David! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blankenship shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. David blocking the ground and pound. David wants to hold on but Blankenship pushes him away. Blankenship takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. David can't escape the position.
David defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Blankenship. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Poor strikes thrown by Blankenship there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. David tries to hold on but Blankenship pushes him away. Blankenship is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. David can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Blankenship is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but David is surviving well by controlling Blankenship's body position as best he can. Blankenship tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. David is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Blankenship jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but David manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blankenship staying calm. Blankenship seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down David for as long as he can get away with. David is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Blankenship off and has taken his back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blankenship tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Blankenship holds on, trying desperately to control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blankenship bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Blankenship is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Blankenship throws a big elbow that misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Blankenship content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

David looks to clinch and Blankenship counters by clinching up. Blankenship wants a takedown but no success here.
David is trying to force a seperation but Blankenship has the dominant position. Blankenship looking for a takedown. Blankenship breaks from the clinch.
Blankenship fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but David avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Blankenship. That's going to take a lot out of him. David tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Blankenship counters with a nice body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship keeps the fight on the outside. David gets cracked there but stands up to it.
David darts in trying to clinch and Blankenship counters with a head kick. David is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Blankenship circles away from the clinch attempt and Blankenship counters with a good low kick that David was not able to check. David throws a head kick that misses and Blankenship counters with an outside leg kick.
Blankenship circles away from the clinch attempt and Blankenship counters with a takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Blankenship works to advance to full mount. David defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. David is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Blankenship controlling the position easily from mount. David is breathing heavily. David sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blankenship. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. David is in trouble now - Blankenship has advanced to mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blankenship jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… David is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by David and Blankenship has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Blankenship tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Blankenship has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Blankenship in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blankenship looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Blankenship is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down David's shoulder. That is not cool. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenny Blankenship dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Blankenship looks for a takedown but David sprawls well. David lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. David wants to clinch and Blankenship counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. David leaves Blankenship with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. David tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Blankenship counters with a nice kick to the body. David tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blankenship paws at him with a jab and circles away. David darts in trying to clinch and Blankenship decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in David's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Blankenship gets to his feet. David looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's one minute gone in the round. Blankenship instigates a clinch. David gets underhooks to prevent Blankenship's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Blankenship. That's going to take a lot out of him. Blankenship breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Samson David is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Blankenship closes the distance and lands a one-two. Blankenship circles away from the clinch attempt.
David darts in trying to clinch and Blankenship counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Blankenship throwing strikes from guard but David blocks nicely. Blankenship controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Blankenship with a flurry of punches that miss. Blankenship stays in close to David's body and controls the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kenny Blankenship. David looks to clinch and Blankenship counters by clinching up. Blankenship drops to a knee looking for a takedown but David gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Blankenship lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt David or not. Blankenship changes levels and goes for a takedown here. David fights it off and pushes away nicely.

It looks like Kenny Blankenship has been cut. David tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Blankenship counters with a nice leg kick. David fails in his attempt to clinch. David tries to clinch and Blankenship counters with a flying knee. Nice. David lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Blankenship lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blankenship shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blankenship throwing strikes from guard but David blocks nicely. Blankenship stands and throws David's legs to the side, diving into side control. Blankenship tries to score with some ground and pound. David controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Blankenship stands up and we're back to a striking position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! David throws a series of punches but Blankenship moves out of range. Samson David has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kenny Blankenship is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. David throws a lazy head kick and Blankenship counters with a takedown into side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenny Blankenship showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blankenship, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
