Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Cocoa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando del Valle!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cocoa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from del Valle.

Cocoa drives through and clinches with del Valle against the cage.
del Valle jumps guard but Cocoa turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

del Valle has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cocoa regains guard immediately.

Cocoa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cocoa working for a triangle but del Valle defends it easily.

Cocoa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead del Valle passes into half guard.
Well, if del Valle is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Cocoa actively working from the bottom here.

Cocoa wants to control but del Valle is keeping busy.

Cocoa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but del Valle pulls his head out easily.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. del Valle lands a nice short elbow.
del Valle tries to pass to full mount but Cocoa defends it.
del Valle is trying to control the action in half guard but Cocoa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Cocoa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but del Valle pulls his head out easily.
Cocoa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Cocoa actively working from the bottom here.

del Valle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cocoa tries to kick del Valle off in order to stand up. del Valle Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Cocoa is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but del Valle has just dragged him back down to the mat.

del Valle wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cocoa, who protects the arm well.
del Valle landing strikes.
This has been an exciting period of action!
del Valle is looking to take a break and control but Cocoa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cocoa sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Cocoa looking for subs from the bottom but del Valle mounts him!
del Valle with the ground and pound from mount.
del Valle looking to control but Cocoa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Cocoa wants to control but del Valle is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
del Valle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Cocoa is looking to get to half guard.
del Valle tries to control but Cocoa wriggling away.
del Valle in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
del Valle controlling the position easily from mount.
Cocoa is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

del Valle is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Cocoa is surviving well by controlling del Valle's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cocoa tries to reverse the position but del Valle maintains control.
Cocoa is working hard here to advance position.
Cocoa tries to improve his position but instead del Valle has taken his back!
Cocoa manages to reverse the position and now he's in del Valle's guard. Nice work there by Cocoa.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

del Valle is looking for a triangle but Cocoa pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cocoa is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but del Valle has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Cocoa is looking to defend but del Valle has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Cocoa! del Valle pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Cocoa taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Fernando del Valle!
Fernando del Valle decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
