Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Quatrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raje Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quatrone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stronger by Kayne West. Raje Malapitan is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Xavier Quatrone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raje Malapitan! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Malapitan misses with a takedown and Quatrone counters with a left and a right that stings Malapitan. Quatrone fails in his attempt to clinch. Malapitan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Malapitan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quatrone as he jumps to the side. Quatrone slaps away a takedown attempt from Malapitan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Xavier Quatrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan. Malapitan gets a takedown into half guard. Quatrone controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Quatrone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malapitan is working away from the top position though. Malapitan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Quatrone does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Quatrone gets back to full guard.
Quatrone is pulling down on Malapitan's head. It's preventing any offense from Malapitan, at least for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malapitan looking to pass the guard. Malapitan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Quatrone is proving hard to escape from. Quatrone is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Quatrone misses with a takedown attempt - Malapitan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Quatrone ducks under a wild hook from Malapitan. Quatrone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Malapitan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Quatrone moves away. Quatrone tries to clinch up but Malapitan circles away and keeps his distance. Quatrone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Malapitan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Quatrone pinned against the cage. Quatrone gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Quatrone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Malapitan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Quatrone gets a double leg takedown into Malapitan's guard. Quatrone loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Quatrone postures up in Malapitan's guard and throws a big left but Malapitan blocks it. Malapitan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Quatrone defends it easily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Quatrone is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Quatrone trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Malapitan controls Quatrone momentarily but Quatrone frees himself. Quatrone working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malapitan trying to control the position.
Quatrone got a little sloppy there for a moment and Malapitan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Quatrone has managed to get both his arms back between Malapitan's legs - danger averted. Malapitan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Quatrone is one step ahead there. Quatrone is working Malapitan over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Malapitan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Quatrone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Quatrone wants to pass the guard but Malapitan is keeping the position. Quatrone throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Malapitan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Quatrone's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quatrone utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Malapitan passes into half guard. Quatrone is controlling Malapitan's trapped leg to prevent Malapitan from advancing to side control. Malapitan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quatrone keeps working. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Quatrone controlling the position well. Malapitan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Quatrone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Malapitan is working away from the top position though. Quatrone moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Malapitan drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Malapitan jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Quatrone is working an open guard so Malapitan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Malapitan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quatrone sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malapitan somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Xavier Quatrone will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Quatrone throws a looping overhand right but Malapitan ducks down to avoid it. Quatrone slaps away a takedown attempt from Malapitan, before circling back to the center of the mat. Quatrone fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Malapitan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Quatrone swivels and escapes. Malapitan checks a leg kick. Nice takedown defense from Quatrone. No joy for Malapitan on that attempt. Xavier Quatrone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan. Excellent takedown into side control there by Malapitan. Malapitan wants to control but Quatrone is keeping him busy. Quatrone can't do much from the bottom here. Malapitan tries to score with some ground and pound. Quatrone controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Quatrone gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Malapitan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quatrone controlling the position for now. Malapitan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quatrone keeps working. Malapitan has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Quatrone defend it? Malapitan steps over the head and cranks it - Quatrone is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Malapitan!
