Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Simpson's guard.
Rios looking to pass the guard.
Rios has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Simpson is proving hard to escape from.
Rios slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Rios gets to his feet. Simpson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rios shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rios was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Simpson manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Rios is really struggling to control Simpson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rios seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Simpson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Simpson is looking for a sweep. Rios is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Simpson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rios paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Simpson is looking to clinch but Rios is avoiding it.
Simpson scores with a head kick.
It looks like Tyson Rios has been cut.
Rios shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Simpson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rios is one step ahead there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rios stands up and waves to Simpson to follow him.
Rios takes the fight into the clinch.
Simpson stops a takedown attempt from Rios.
Simpson is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Rios is keeping busy.
Rios is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Rios is trying to maintain a safe position but Simpson gets an underhook and turns Rios into the cage.
Rios tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Rios breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Simpson stuffs the takedown.
Rios throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Simpson.

Simpson is trying to work for a kimura but Rios is defending well.
Rios slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rios scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Simpson tries to clinch but Rios moves away
and Rios counters by clinching up.

Simpson throws an elbow that misses.
Simpson throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rios manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rios pulls Simpson in close to prevent any damage.
Rios is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rios is looking to sinch up a triangle. Simpson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Rios's body to avoid the submission. Rios has instead reached around Simpson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Rios arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
