Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steven Chow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuele Oren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuele Oren has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Chow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuele Oren! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chow wants to clinch up but Oren keeps it at a distance. Chow tries to close the distance and clinch but Oren swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Oren keeps the fight on the outside. Chow pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Oren wants to clinch. Oren clinches with his opponent.
Chow using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Oren turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Oren manages to end up in side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oren tries for a kimura but Chow is defending well. Oren looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Chow is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oren stands up. Chow shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Oren pinned against the cage. Oren gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Chow wants to clinch and Oren counters with a nice double leg into guard. Oren is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Chow has his foot on Oren's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oren works his way back into a safe position though. Chow preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Chow is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Chow is breathing heavily. Oren landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oren controlling from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oren slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Chow stops Oren from passing to mount. Oren landing a few strikes. Chow is looking for a sweep. Oren working the ground and pound but Chow is defending the strikes. Oren is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Chow is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oren is looking to take a break and control but Chow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Chow gets back to half guard. Oren looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chow with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oren wants to control but Chow is keeping him busy. Chow regains full guard. Nicely done. Oren stands up over Chow, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Oren drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chow looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chow looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chow! Oren is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chow is controlling him well. Oren is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Chow's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Chow is thwarting Oren's attempts to control the position. Chow seems to be working for a kimura but Oren defends the submission attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samuele Oren dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chow keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Chow is looking to clinch but Oren is avoiding it.
Chow with a lazy takedown attempt and Oren counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Chow! Oren unloads with some shots from mount but Chow bucks and avoids them well.
Oren trying to control but Chow is having none of it. Chow gets back to half guard. Oren is pressing down on Chow's thigh, looking to free his foot. Chow is holding on for now. Oren is breathing heavily. Chow wants to improve his position but Oren is controlling well.
Oren stalling away here and it's allowed Chow to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chow had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Oren is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Chow Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Oren's back instead. Chow working for the choke. Chow is trying to stick to Oren's back but Oren is turning into Chow. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chow's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Oren. Oren passes Chow's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Chow actively working from the bottom here. Oren is trying to work for a kimura but Chow is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chow is trying to control but can't.
Chow is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Oren is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Chow gets full guard. Chow trying to control the position.
Chow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Oren doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Chow is tightening it up a little... Oren has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Oren reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Oren taps out! nice BJJ there by Chow!
