Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Josh Wolfe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wolfe's entrance music is Dr. Dre The Chronic - Nuthin' But A G Thang. A fine choice. John Maia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Wolfe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Maia! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Wolfe. That's going to slow Maia down. Wolfe shoots in and drives through. Maia sprawls well. Wolfe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Wolfe plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Maia avoids a punch combination nicely.
Maia darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Wolfe is looking to get back to is feet but Maia passes into side control.
Wolfe stops Maia from passing to mount. Maia decides to stand up, so the ref orders Wolfe to his feet. Wolfe connects with a high kick. Wolfe scores with a head kick.
Wolfe takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Maia takes a head kick and keeps coming.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wolfe misses with a two punch combination.
Wolfe tries to clinch but fails miserably and Maia counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maia. Wolfe isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maia stacks Wolfe on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maia! Wolfe is looking to reverse the position. Maia controls the position. Let's hope that Maia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Maia decides to stand back up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wolfe lands a jab-cross combination. Some wild striking there from Wolfe.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wolfe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Maia blocks a head kick by Wolfe.
Wolfe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Maia decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Wolfe actively working from the bottom here. Maia perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Maia stands up out of the half guard. Wolfe throws a head kick but Maia moves out of range.
Wolfe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Maia shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wolfe as he jumps to the side. Maia fails with the takedown. Josh Wolfe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Maia. Maia looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolfe throws a head kick that Maia semi-blocks.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wolfe throws his legs up looking for a submission but Maia uses it to pass to side control.
Maia is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Wolfe's shoulder. That is not cool. Maia working the ground and pound from side control. Wolfe looks to move to half guard but instead Maia has passed into mount! Damn! Wolfe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maia working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Wolfe is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Maia dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wolfe looks to land a combination but Maia avoids it well. Maia takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Maia is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wolfe's half guard. Ground and pound from Maia. Wolfe wants to get back to full guard. Wolfe looking for a kimura from the bottom but Maia passes into side control! Wolfe is looking for a sweep. Maia controlling from side mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wolfe tries to bench press Maia off him but Maia keeps the position. Maia has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maia gets caught napping as Wolfe dives in and scores a takedown. Maia manages to retain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wolfe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Wolfe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Wolfe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Maia keeping moving, preventing Wolfe from controlling successfully. Maia trying to control the position.
Maia seems keen to control Wolfe's posture. Wolfe postures up in Maia's guard and throws a big left but Maia blocks it. Maia trying to keep a closed guard but Wolfe is proving a slippery customer.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Maia wasn't active enough on the ground. Wolfe lands with a kick to the temple. Maia shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wolfe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wolfe keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wolfe throws a sloppy head kick and Maia moves out of range easily. Maia throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wolfe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Maia is in Wolfe's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maia gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Josh Wolfe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maia stuffs the takedown. Wolfe shoots and misses and Maia counters with a nice double leg into guard. Maia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Maia just content to control the position. Maia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wolfe keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolfe is looking to get back to his feet here but Maia is keeping cool and he's managed to take Wolfe's back. Maia is punishing Wolfe with strikes - can he finish him?! Maia biding his time, looking for the opening.
Wolfe is really stuck here.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Maia holds on and takes a little breather. Wolfe throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maia wants to sweep here but Wolfe controlling him for the moment. Maia kicks Wolfe off and gets to his feet. Maia blocks a head kick by Wolfe.
Josh Wolfe is winning the standup battle so far. Wolfe keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

John Maia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
A combination from Wolfe does no damage. Wolfe lands a head kick. Maia smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Wolfe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maia circles away quickly and effectively. Some wild striking there from Maia.
Wolfe goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Maia moves into the clinch successfully.
Maia blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Wolfe tries for a takedown but Maia manages to get underhooks.
Maia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Maia looks to land a combination but Wolfe avoids it well. Maia looking to score a takedown here. Wolfe is defending well but Maia drives through and ends up in Wolfe's guard. Wolfe throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maia passes Wolfe's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wolfe works his way to full guard. Good work. Wolfe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maia defends it easily. Maia controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Wolfe is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Maia escapes and gets back to his feet. A nice leg kick lands there from Wolfe. Maia throws a body punch but Wolfe moves out of range. Maia takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Maia tries to avoid it but Wolfe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Maia to the ground. Maia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Maia misses with a series of wild punches.

Maia fails in his attempt to clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wolfe throws a right hand that Maia ducks under and follows up with a left that Maia also avoids with ease. Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wolfe sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maia stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Josh Wolfe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wolfe gets caught napping as Maia dives in and scores a takedown. Wolfe manages to retain guard. Wolfe looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Maia passes into half guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Maia closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wolfe's guard. Wolfe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Maia escapes and throws Wolfe's legs to the side, diving into side control! Maia taking a breather here. Wolfe is looking to reverse the position. Josh Wolfe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Wolfe looking for a sweep but Maia has passed into full mount! Oh no!
And that's the end of the fight! John Maia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Maia winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
