Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McKenzie is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Manchester Orchestra - Virgin. Mike Peters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Peters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Anthony McKenzie!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie tries to clinch but Peters is having none of it.
McKenzie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peters swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McKenzie scores with a jab.
McKenzie scores with a hook to the body. Peters takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Peters throws a nice inside leg kick.
McKenzie blocks a head kick by Peters.
Peters looks to score with a jab to the body but McKenzie is just out of range.

McKenzie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Peters, pushing him back against the cage.
Peters throws an elbow but it misses.
Peters is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. McKenzie is defending well for now.
Peters is trying to stall.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McKenzie tries to circle away but Peters has him pinned against the cage.
Peters is trying to break the clinch but McKenzie is controlling him.
Peters is struggling to control the position.

Mike Peters is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
McKenzie shoots for a double leg takedown but Peters sprawls well. He's pushed McKenzie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Peters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peters takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
McKenzie wants to clinch but Peters slips to the side
and Peters makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Peters tries to bum rush McKenzie with a series of wild strikes but McKenzie uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McKenzie uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McKenzie throws a head kick that misses.
Peters throws a series of punches but McKenzie avoids them all with ease.
McKenzie with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Peters takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Peters tries to land a leg kick but McKenzie saw it coming and moves away.
Peters throws a right hand that McKenzie ducks under and follows up with a left that McKenzie also avoids with ease.

McKenzie fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Peters throws an off balance right hand

and McKenzie counters by moving into the clinch.

Peters breaks from the clinch.
Peters looks to score with a jab to the body but McKenzie is just out of range.
McKenzie throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
McKenzie moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
McKenzie avoids a punch combination nicely.

Peters tries to keep at a distance but McKenzie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Peters is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Peters crunches a lovely knee into McKenzie's ribcage.
Peters misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from McKenzie.
Peters wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McKenzie has him pressed against the cage.
Peters looking to throw knees to the head but McKenzie is blocking nicely.
McKenzie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Peters's efforts to push away.
Peters is trying to force a seperation but McKenzie has the dominant position.

McKenzie pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McKenzie is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Peters throws a solid leg kick but McKenzie takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Peters.
Peters blocks a low kick nicely.

Peters will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Peters stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from McKenzie.
McKenzie tries to bum rush Peters with a series of wild strikes but Peters uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A left and a right from McKenzie both land. Nice combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Peters throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Peters throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Peters jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McKenzie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Peters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

McKenzie moves into range and clinches up with Peters.
McKenzie lands a body shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Peters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McKenzie with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Peters takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Peters misses with a straight left.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony McKenzie dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

McKenzie gets a double leg takedown into Peters's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Peters wants to stand up but McKenzie is controlling him.
Peters is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McKenzie sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Peters might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Peters is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Peters misses with a low kick.
McKenzie jabs Peters to the body, keeping him at a distance.
A left lands for McKenzie.

Peters gets tackled into the cage by McKenzie. McKenzie maintains the clinch.
Peters is really struggling to find his range with his punches. McKenzie's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Peters with an attempt at a knee that misses.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

McKenzie breaks from the clinch.
Peters throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

McKenzie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Peters throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and McKenzie counters with a straight right hand.
McKenzie thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Peters if he has to take too many more of those.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McKenzie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Peters manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Peters throws a sloppy head kick and McKenzie moves out of range easily.
Peters misses with a series of wild punches.
McKenzie connects with a nice looking jab.
McKenzie shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Peters defends it nicely.
McKenzie blocks a jab.
McKenzie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Peters.
Peters takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
No joy there for Peters, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Peters slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McKenzie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McKenzie connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Peters's hands.


Peters is rocked!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oh Peters is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A nice left hand lands by McKenzie.
McKenzie dips a shoulder and cracks Peters with a mighty uppercut! Peters falls back against the cage and McKenzie unloads with a barrage of strikes! Peters is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - McKenzie screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony McKenzie!
