Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Giron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Woo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Woo has chosen Papercut as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pablo Giron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jin Woo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giron fails to land the takedown.

Giron gets caught flat footed, as Woo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Woo stands up over Giron, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woo forces his way into half guard.

Woo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Woo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Giron does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Woo looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Woo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Woo is pressing down on Giron's thigh, looking to free his foot. Giron is holding on for now.

Woo decides to return to a standing position.
Woo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Giron doesn't seem bothered though.

Woo clinches up against the cage.
Woo is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Giron is defending well.
Woo tries a knee to the head but Giron blocks it.
Woo using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Woo breaks the clinch.

Woo drives through and clinches with Giron against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Woo connects with a nasty looking knee right to Giron's face.

Woo breaks from the clinch.
Woo lands a nice shot to the body.
Woo slips a jab and a cross from Giron.
Woo throws a series of strikes that have Giron backpedaling.
Giron tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Woo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Woo leaves Giron with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Woo on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Woo scores with a three punch combo!
Woo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Giron.
Giron pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Giron is breathing heavily.

Woo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Giron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Giron takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Woo trying to control the position but Giron is working away.
Giron prevents Woo from improving position.
Woo trying to control the action but Giron is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Woo throwing strikes but Giron manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Woo gets back to half guard.

Woo pushes Giron off and gets back to his feet.
Giron shoots and misses

and Woo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Giron's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo Giron. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woo showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Woo trying to control the position from guard on top but Giron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jin Woo dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Woo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Woo tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Woo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Giron throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Woo's waist but Woo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Giron off to one side.
Woo scores with a kick to the body.

Woo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Woo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Woo is working for takedown but Giron is calmly controlling the position for now.
Giron can't break the clinch.
Woo keeps control of Giron as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Woo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Giron pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Giron rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Woo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Giron is looking to score with low kicks.
Woo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Woo closes the distance and pushes Giron back into the cage.

Woo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Giron fails with the takedown
and Woo counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Woo throws a head kick that Giron semi-blocks.
Woo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


Giron is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Woo feints and as Giron raises his hands in defense, Woo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Oh Giron is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Woo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Pablo Giron is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Woo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Giron throws a combination that misses
and Woo counters with a good, hard body kick but Giron shrugs it off.
Giron seems to have got his legs back now.
Giron misses with a jab, cross combination.
Giron slips a jab and a cross from Woo.

Woo clinches.

Woo breaks from the clinch.
Pablo Giron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Woo throws a right and a left that Giron avoids nicely.
Woo throws a sloppy head kick and Giron moves out of range easily.
Giron tries a head kick but it misses.

Woo forces Giron back against the cage and clinches.

Woo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice body kick from Woo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Woo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Woo is trying for a kimura here. Giron looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Woo wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jin Woo!
A very excited looking Jin Woo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
