Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Handles Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Penl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee comes to the cage accompanied by Otis by: Jay-Z f. Kanye West . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Handles Mcgee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Penl!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penl will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Penl gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Penl throws a nice looking combination but Mcgee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mcgee shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Penl wants to stand back up but Mcgee manages to pass into side control.
Penl is looking for a sweep.
Penl manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mcgee blocking the ground and pound attempt from Penl.

Penl stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Mcgee to get to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A right-left combo lands from Mcgee.
Penl changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Mcgee throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Penl throws a nice looking combination but Mcgee bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Penl on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mcgee. Mcgee obviously looking to wear him down.
Mcgee throws a sloppy head kick and Penl moves out of range easily.
Nice defenses there by Penl.
Penl's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Penl duly obliges.
Penl cracks Mcgee with a right hand to the side of the head.
Mcgee misses with a straight left.
Some wild striking there from Penl.
Mcgee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mcgee gets the takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mcgee goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Penl rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Mcgee's guard! Nice work there by Penl!
Penl trying to control but Mcgee is working from the bottom.

Penl slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
It looks like Penl might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mcgee is trying to control the position from the bottom.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jason Penl hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Penl closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mcgee's guard.
Penl keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mcgee's head.
Penl's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Penl passes Mcgee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mcgee is looking for a sweep. Penl is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Penl is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Penl looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Penl is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Penl is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mcgee sees it coming and defends easily.
Penl is trying to control the action in half guard but Mcgee is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Penl wants to stand up but Mcgee has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Penl is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcgee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Penl.
Mcgee is looking for a sweep. Penl is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Mcgee trying to control but Penl postures up.
Mcgee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Penl working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Penl throwing shots but Mcgee is blocking nicely.
Penl throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mcgee is trying to maintain the position but Penl is very close to passing his half guard.
Penl missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Penl thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcgee's head.

Penl is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcgee defends it well.

Penl is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcgee has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Penl dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Mcgee dives in and scores a takedown into Penl's guard.
Mcgee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Penl lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcgee!
Penl tries to control but Mcgee wriggling away.
Penl with a couple of short strikes.
Mcgee is desperately trying to improve his position but Penl has a good base and remains in mount.

Penl looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Penl wants to control the pace but Mcgee is squirming around nicely.
Penl scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Mcgee tries to lock up and control but Penl gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Penl goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mcgee is on top in guard.

Penl pushes Mcgee off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Penl lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcgee circles away quickly and effectively.
Mcgee tries to bum rush Penl with a series of wild strikes but Penl uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcgee is looking to clinch.
Penl smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mcgee shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Penl to counter with a crisp jab.

Mcgee tries to keep at a distance but Penl has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mcgee tries a knee to the head but Penl blocks it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Penl breaks the clinch.
Handles Mcgee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mcgee misses with a few strikes there.

Mcgee gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Penl to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mcgee is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Penl passes Mcgee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Mcgee is defending against the submission attempts here by Penl.

Penl is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Penl seems to be looking for submissions.

Penl takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Penl wants to pass to mount but Mcgee is defending the position.
Penl content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Penl thows a huge punch but Mcgee dodges it nicely.
Mcgee tries to roll over but Penl keeps him under control.
Mcgee has his hands clasped together around Penl's back. He's all about the action.

Mcgee keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Mcgee is not content to let Penl control the position.
Mcgee is looking to improve his position.
Mcgee gets back to full guard.
Mcgee is adopting a defensive guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penl scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Penl changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcgee looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Penl is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mcgee has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jason Penl showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Mcgee pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mcgee wants to land a leg kick but Penl is out of range.
Penl slips under a jab.
Mcgee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Penl closes the distance and clinches.
Mcgee keeps control of Penl as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
A head punch on the inside from Mcgee fails to land.
Mcgee throws a head punch that misses.
Mcgee throws a punch but it's blocked by Penl.
Penl blocks the elbow strike.
A short right from Mcgee.
Penl blocks an uppercut.
Mcgee taking a breather.

Penl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Penl closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Penl pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Penl throws a right and a left that Mcgee avoids nicely.
Mcgee throws a leg kick
letting Penl counter with a right hand.

Penl drives through and clinches with Mcgee against the cage.
Penl tries to break the clinch but Mcgee is controlling the position.
Mcgee tries to throw a body punch but Penl avoids it by throwing Mcgee back against the cage.
Penl blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Penl breaks the clinch.
Penl misses with a jab, cross combination.
Penl comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Penl swinging wildly here.
Mcgee throws a leg kick which misses Penl's front leg but catches the back leg as Penl tries to avoid it.
Penl blocks a low kick nicely.
Penl works over Mcgee's head and body with a nice combination.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Penl clinches up with Mcgee and pushes him back against the cage.

Penl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Handles Mcgee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penl clinches with his opponent.
Mcgee throws a head punch that misses.
Penl working hard to break the clinch.
Mcgee can't find room to land a body shot as Penl controls the action.
Penl is trying to break the clinch but Mcgee has him pressed against the cage.

Penl has closed the distance and engaged Mcgee in a clinch.
Mcgee keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Penl's efforts to push away.

Penl scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Mcgee throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Penl shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Penl takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Penl is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Mcgee has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Mcgee!
Penl wants to get back to his feet but Mcgee passes into half guard.
Mcgee looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Mcgee is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Penl still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Penl has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Jason Penl comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Penl has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
