Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sweaty Mullins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Orndorf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Orndorf has chosen Bodies - Drowning Pool as his entrance music. Sweaty Mullins could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Paul Orndorf's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sweaty Mullins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Orndorf!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mullins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Orndorf did well to prevent Mullins getting side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Orndorf can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mullins not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mullins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Orndorf's head.

Mullins seems to be working for a kimura but Orndorf defends the submission attempt.
Orndorf has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mullins is working away from the top position though.

Mullins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mullins seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Orndorf does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mullins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mullins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Orndorf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mullins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mullins is trying to work for a kimura but Orndorf is defending well.
Orndorf is trying to control but can't.

Orndorf is defending against the submission attempts here by Mullins.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mullins stands up from half guard.

Mullins rushes Orndorf and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mullins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Orndorf avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Mullins wants the takedown. Orndorf is fighting it off but Mullins persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Orndorf's guard against the cage.
Orndorf looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mullins is one step ahead there.
Mullins trying to control the position from guard on top but Orndorf is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mullins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mullins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Orndorf tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mullins works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mullins works his way into full mount!
Mullins tries to control but Orndorf wriggling away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orndorf tries to lock up and control but Mullins gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mullins landing strikes from the mount.
Mullins lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Mullins looking for a guillotine from mount but Orndorf is having none of it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mullins wants to finish this one by submission but Orndorf is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mullins.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sweaty Mullins dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Mullins closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Orndorf quickly recovers to half guard.
Mullins uses his free foot to push down on Orndorf's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Orndorf.
Orndorf stops Mullins from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Orndorf tries to hold on but Mullins postures up.
Mullins pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Mullins landing strikes from the mount and Orndorf is in trouble!

Mullins looking to isolate an arm here. Orndorf doesn't see it coming and as Mullins extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Mullins!
