Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hidetoshi Nakata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Mulligan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hidetoshi Nakata has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hidetoshi Nakata! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Mulligan! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakata manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mulligan on his heels. He'll look to pass Mulligan's guard now, I'm sure. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Nakata advances position into side control! Nakata working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Nakata thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Mulligan sneaks back into half guard. Nakata prevents Mulligan from standing back up.
Nakata wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mulligan keeps working.

Nakata takes one on the button. Hidetoshi Nakata seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nakata gets caught flat footed, as Mulligan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. That was a close round but I would say that Hidetoshi Nakata will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nakata walks into a left hand. Mulligan shoots in but Nakata avoids the takedown attempt easily. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nakata. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hidetoshi Nakata. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nakata takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mulligan moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nakata tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mulligan swivels and escapes. Mulligan scores with a punch to the head. Mulligan connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Mulligan feints a jab promting Nakata to slip. Mulligan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nakata slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Mulligan scores with a hook to the body. Nakata takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Mulligan keeps Nakata at a distance using the push kick. Mulligan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nakata. Mulligan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Mulligan throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nakata. Mulligan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mulligan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mulligan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nakata. Mulligan jabs Nakata to the body, keeping him at a distance. Mulligan lands a big head kick that sends Nakata tumbling to the mat! Mulligan takes a step backwards and waves Nakata back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Nakata is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mulligan scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Oh Nakata is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Mulligan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Nakata seems to have got his legs back now. Mulligan scores with a sloppy right hand. Nakata should have avoided that one. Nakata defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mulligan. Nakata looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mulligan with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mulligan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Mulligan is figuring out what he wants to do next. Nakata trying to control here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Nakata is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mulligan pulls his head out easily. Mulligan seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Max Mulligan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Nakata has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mulligan after a bit of a struggle. Nakata jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mulligan walks away with a smile on his face. Nakata gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hidetoshi Nakata. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nakata takes a body punch but keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mulligan throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nakata's head. Nakata looks for a takedown but Mulligan sprawls well. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mulligan.
And that's the end of the fight! Max Mulligan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mulligan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
