The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sweeperton circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sweeperton counters with a nice uppercut.
Sweeperton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Manalotto is trying to defend but Sweeperton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manalotto is staying active underneath Sweeperton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Sweeperton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Manalotto is just riding it out for now. Sweeperton eventually gives up the hold.
Sweeperton not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Sweeperton is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Manalotto doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sweeperton.
