Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sean Mess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Slayer - War Ensamble as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dom Jackson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to clinch there but Mess circles away.

Mess looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jackson lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Mess has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from. Mess wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson controls Mess momentarily but Mess frees himself. Jackson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mess is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jackson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mess's back instead. Mess tries to escape the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mess knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mess for a finish. Mess rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Jackson wants to take a breather but Mess is having none of it. Jackson trying to pass the guard but Mess defending well. Mess is positioning himself well to prevent Jackson advancing to mount. Mess tries to roll over but Jackson keeps him under control. Jackson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mess tries to work over Jackson's front leg with a kick but Jackson checks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Jackson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson gets caught flat footed, as Mess shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Mess is breathing heavily. Jackson keeping busy on the bottom but Mess has passed one foot through into half guard.
Mess stands up out of the half guard. Mess throws the kick towards the body but Jackson avoids it. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mess. Mess circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mess throws a body punch but Jackson moves out of range. Jackson has closed the distance and engaged Mess in a clinch.
Mess wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jackson has him pressed against the cage. Jackson lands an elbow that stopped Mess in his tracks for a moment. Mess tries for a takedown but Jackson manages to get underhooks.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mess kicks Jackson off and gets back to his feet. A head kick misses from Mess. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jackson lands a right hand. Come on Mess - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Mess breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Mess darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mess working Jackson over with strikes. Mess winds up and cracks Jackson with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Jackson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Mess pulls his head out easily. Mess passes to side control. Mess tries to advance to mount but can't. Jackson is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson gets back to half guard. Mess is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Jackson trying to hold on to Mess's head to control him but Mess postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson tries for a takedown but Mess circles away easily and Mess counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jackson working for a triangle but Mess defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jackson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mess! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mess scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Jackson throws a lazy body kick and Mess connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mess moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sean Mess is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mess clinches up with Jackson and pushes him back against the cage. Mess is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jackson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Mess prevents Jackson from breaking the clinch. Jackson has had enough of the clinch but Mess keeps him there for the moment. Jackson lands with a short shot to the head. Jackson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mess has him pressed against the cage. Mess wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jackson won't be happy about that! Mess gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Mess shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Mess was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jackson is trying to reverse the position but instead Mess has taken his back - oops! Jackson rolls, trying to escape but Mess keeps control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mess. Jackson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Mess shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mess showed some decent athleticism there. Mess takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Mess wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working. Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mess is tying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Jackson cracks the inside of Mess's front leg. Mess tries to land a front kick but Jackson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nice straight punches there by Jackson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jackson. Jackson scores with a leg kick.
