Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lenny Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Stratton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lenny Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Stratton! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stratton throws a series of punches but Martin moves out of range. Martin lands with a good body shot. Martin tries to work over Stratton's front leg with a kick but Stratton checks it. Martin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Stratton but Stratton pushes him off and we're back to square one. Martin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Martin throws a head kick but Stratton moves out of range.
Martin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stratton sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Stratton instigates a clinch. Stratton lands with a light punch inside. Stratton lands with a left to the head. Martin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Stratton stalls. Martin tries to throw a body punch but Stratton avoids it by throwing Martin back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stratton scores with a shot to the side of Martin's head. Martin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lenny Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Martin slows down the pace here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin is looking to break free of the clinch but Stratton has double underhooks. Martin throws a head punch that misses. Stratton cracks Martin with a nice body shot. Stratton is trying to trip Martin. He has hold of a leg but Martin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stratton persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Martin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Stratton controlling from the top position. Let's hope that Stratton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Martin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Stratton. Martin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stratton defends well. Martin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stratton looking to pass the guard. Martin can't keep his opponent in guard - Stratton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martin looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Martin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Stratton controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Stratton passes easily into side control. Nice work. Martin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stratton wants to control but Martin is keeping him busy. Stratton in side control, just content to control the action for now. Stratton working away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Martin prevents Stratton from improving position. Martin is looking to regain half guard here but Stratton keeps moving and retains side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stratton is staying tight to Martin's torso, preventing him from escaping. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Stratton dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Stratton has closed the distance and engaged Martin in a clinch.
Martin tries to stall but Stratton uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Stratton is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Martin can't fight it off and eventually Stratton manages to take the fight to the floor. Martin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Stratton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stratton has managed to get both his arms back between Martin's legs - danger averted. Stratton chips away with some ground and pound. Stratton trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Martin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stratton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stratton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Stratton controlling from the top position. Martin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stratton sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin is trying to control the position but Stratton postures up. Stratton stopping the sweep attempt from Martin. Eric Stratton has got the better of the ground game so far. Martin trying to keep a closed guard but Stratton is proving a slippery customer.
Martin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stratton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stratton's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Stratton stays in close to Martin's body and controls the position. Stratton wants to control from the top but Martin keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Eric Stratton hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Martin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Stratton rushes Martin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Martin wants to break free but Stratton has control.
A nice left hand lands by Stratton.
Stratton scores with an uppercut up the middle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stratton works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Stratton scoring with some ground and pound. Stratton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Martin's head. Martin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stratton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stratton controlling from the top position. Martin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Martin has his foot on Stratton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stratton works his way back into a safe position though. Stratton lands a couple of decent looking shots. Stratton looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Martin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Stratton escapes and throws Martin's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Stratton scores with punches from side control. Stratton controlling from side mount. Martin tries to buck Stratton off but Stratton is having none of it. Stratton slows the pace down. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Stratton controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Stratton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Stratton lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Stratton has picked Martin up - he's going for a ride! Stratton dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Stratton drops an elbow to the side of Martin's head. Martin looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Stratton controlling the action here.

Martin wants to get back to full guard. Stratton seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Stratton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Still in half guard, Stratton seems content to control. Stratton prevents Martin from improving his position. Martin trying to control but Stratton postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Martin manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Stratton won't allow Martin to sweep him here. Stratton slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stratton landing with the ground and pound. Stratton trying to control the position from guard on top but Martin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stratton is stalling in the full guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Stratton was stalling too much, according to the referee. Stratton gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Martin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Stratton looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Martin tries to free his leg and advance position but Stratton is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin trying to control but Stratton is working from the bottom. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Lenny Martin just wasn't active enough. The fight moves into the clinch position. Martin is looking for a takedown. Stratton lands a right hand that snaps the head of Martin backwards. Stratton throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Martins head. Eric Stratton is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right from Stratton on the inside. Martin prevents a body shot from Stratton. Stratton lands a shoulder strike. Stratton is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Martin can't fight it off and eventually Stratton manages to take the fight to the floor. Martin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Martin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Martin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that's the end of the fight! Eric Stratton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Stratton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
