The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Scalante. Beautiful body shot.
Padilla tries to land a front kick but Scalante steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A head kick misses from Padilla.
Padilla throws the kick towards the body but Scalante avoids it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Padilla.
Scalante is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Scalante thows a body shot but no joy.
Padilla looks to throw the jab but Scalante is out of range.
Scalante lands with an uppercut that bounces Padilla off the cage and back into range.
Scalante throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Scalante jabs at Padilla's body.
Scalante swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Scalante moves out of range of the body kick from Padilla.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Scalante fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Padilla shoots in but Scalante avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Padilla looks for a takedown but Scalante sprawls well.
Padilla on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Padilla throws the kick towards the body but Scalante avoids it.
Scalante throws a hook to the side of Padilla's head but Padilla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Scalante ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Padilla moves away.

Padilla fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robin Padilla. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Padilla tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Scalante was well out of range. Poor timing from Padilla.

Scalante throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Padilla throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Scalante sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Scalante lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Padilla walks into a stiff left hand from Scalante.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Padilla. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Scalante lands with a good body shot.
Padilla is breathing heavily.
Scalante swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Padilla.
Padilla walks straight into a right hand from Scalante - that's dropped him! Scalante jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Padilla from any more punishment! Padilla complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
