The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva forces Vergel back against the cage and clinches.
Vergel looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A body shot lands from Silva.
Silva decides to pull guard.
Silva wants to sweep here but Vergel controlling him for the moment.
Silva seems keen to control Vergel's posture.
Silva on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Silva tries to get out of the position.
Vergel trying to stand up but can't free himself from Silva's guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vergel, pushing him back against the cage.

Silva takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Silva lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Silva tries to pull guard but Vergel forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Silva is trying to drag Vergel to the mat but Vergel just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Silva wants to sweep but no luck.

Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Vergel is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vergel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Robyn Silva just wasn't active enough.
Silva scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Ace Vergel has been cut.
Silva connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Vergel is rocked!
Vergel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vergel is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Silva moves into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Silva manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Silva pulls Vergel in close to his closed guard and prevents Vergel from doing any damage or advancing position.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Silva uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Robyn Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The cut man is working on Ace Vergel's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Silva moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva tries to clinch but Vergel is having none of it.
Vergel walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Silva throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Vergel's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Silva dives in looking to finish as Vergel flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Silva's strikes! Silva is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Vergel's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Vergel was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
